It may not occur to many people, but we are everything to our dogs. That’s why they feel heartbroken when we leave them at home by themselves, and they go nuts with excitement once we come back home. Usually, when we leave, they just stay indoors and wait for us to return.
But for this adventurous doggo from the Philippines, enough was enough. He took matters into his own paws! You may have heard about Eclipse, the dog from Seattle who rides the bus on her own to go the park. In the Philippines, they have Vince, the doggo who used public transportation to search for his humans.
Instead of taking the bus, Vince rode a “jeepney.” If you haven’t been to the Philippines, this is the main mode of public transportation over there. Jeepneys are basically made from the Jeeps that our troops left at the end of World War II. The Filipinos made them longer, like a limousine, to accommodate more passengers.
Vince rode the jeepney that day, and the other passengers were surprised. They asked around regarding the owner of the doggo, but nobody inside had a clue. So one of them took a video of the pooch because this is definitely an unusual occurrence, just like Eclipse’s story.
But what’s interesting about Vince is that he had his head sticking out of the vehicle, as if he was looking for someone. When the jeepney stopped at a red light, serendipitously, the pickup truck next to them was carrying Vince’s humans! They were so surprised to see Vince taking public transportation by himself.
They scooped up their pooch and brought him along with them on the truck. Vince’s mom explained that she used to take the doggo with her every time they headed out, and they always rode jeepneys. This goes to show that Vince is smart enough to remember riding these vehicles, and perhaps he was scanning the streets trying to remember where they usually get off. See the incredible clip below.
