When not being the life of the party – by just being his usual adorable him, Bogart loves watching the daily hustle and bustle of life from his yard. This 4-year-old English bulldog is as curious as any dog (or cat for that matter) – he enjoys watching life and seeing people all around him.
So when one day his dad decided to build a taller fence around the yard, Bogart did not approve. The fence was to keep Bogart and his older sibling from running out of the yard. Living near a popular Danish hiking path, Bogart loves seeing different faces every day, this plan by his dad did not sit well with him.
Seeing that Bogart was not excited that a wooden fence is blocking his view of the outside world, his dad decided to cut holes through it. The hole was just quite big enough to fit Bogart and his brother’s head through and small enough to keep them from running to the street.
But dad was not done just yet, seeing that the holes seemed too plain for his liking, he decided to put a little artistic and humorous touch to it. He painted the outside of the fence resembling a photo stand-in. Just like the ones in amusement parks. They painted one hole with a crown and a king’s robe, while the other with a jester hat.
This fun addition to the once plain and boring fence made Bogart (and the fence) a star. A viral video posted online showed Bogart sticking his head out from the ‘king’ hole as if ruling over his kingdom. The dog in the fence became an attraction and just may well be the most photographed dog (and fence) in Denmark.
Bogart does not seem to be fazed by the stardom and is actually quite delighted with the attention, as well as the free treats that come with being the most popular Danish dog. Hole in the fence: quite a delightful compromise.
