Gilligan and Milli, two previously stray cats, are lucky to have a caring foster mom named Kona. But what is peculiar about the setup is that Kona is a dog. Even with this peculiarity, the bond that the three shared proves that dogs can thrive in the same environment with cats.
Gilligan and Milli were found wandering on the streets without their mother when they were three weeks old. Fortunately, volunteers from the Manhattan branch of Animal Care Centers learned about the two cats’ ordeal. The volunteers immediately went to the site where the two kittens were seen and rescued them.
Before bringing Gilligan and Milli to the animal shelter, the volunteers brought the cats to a veterinarian. This is to ensure that Gilligan and Milli would not pose any harm to other animals in the shelter. When Gilligan and Milli received clearance from the vet, they were then sheltered with other animals inside the animal shelter.
At that time, Kona also arrived at the shelter because she got abandoned by her previous owners. It turned out that Kona recently gave birth to puppies, but all of the puppies did not survive. This incident left Kona heartbroken, so she showed signs of depression. In these challenging times, Kona, Gilligan, and Milli found refuge in each other.
Kona treated the two kittens as her own despite their differences. At the shelter, Kona would often look after the two cats. This is because Kona does not want anything bad to happen to them.
The volunteers likewise noticed that Kona likes to lick and kiss Gilligan and Milli. In return, Gilligan and Milli would often cuddle with their foster mom.
According to the volunteers, they are now looking for an adopter of the three animals. The volunteers know that Kona, Gilligan, and Milli should not be separated from each other. This is why the volunteers are looking for an adopter that would take the three.
