We can only imagine that dog parks have the same effect on dogs that Disneyland has on people. For them, it just might be the happiest place on Earth. This must be true for Vincent, a Golden Retriever, as filmed in this hilariously viral video posted by Nicola Booth from Queensland, Australia one day while walking past a dog park.
Vincent’s owner was calling the pooch to head home when the dog stubbornly refused to follow his human. From the looks of it, Vincent did not want to leave the park just yet and the call fell on deaf ears. Trying to tug on Vincent’s leash, the mutt would not budge, not even an inch, even looking away as if feeling nothing.
The dog wanted to stay in the dog park so bad that he did the one thing he thought would make his owner leave him alone; he pretended to be dead! This creative stunt of his drew the attention of passersby and made Booth started filming the adorable fracas.
While Vincent lay on the pavement, his dad tried pulling on his paws but Vincent wouldn’t give in, because well, he’s dead. His human’s futile attempt at bribing him with treats did little to bring the mutt back to life. The “dead” dog was not going to live just yet.
In a final attempt to get his dog’s attention and follow him home, the dad started off and threatened to leave Vincent there, moving away a few steps while saying goodbye. But Vincent is not going to be revived just yet, he just had to make sure that there’s something for him in return for his obedience.
Seeing his dad walking to the treat’s stand made the dog spring up to his feet, resurrected at last! His stunt not only won him hearts from all over the world, he even won treats to snack on, on his way home.
