No matter what happens, our doggos will always have our best interests at heart. They will fight wild animals just to protect us, and they will chase away intruders that break into our homes. What’s most fascinating about this, however, is that they will always do these things regardless of their breed.
When talking about dogs protecting their humans, we conjure up images of German shepherds or Belgian Malinoises in our minds. But what about toy dogs? Do Chihuahuas, poodles, or Yorkies have a chance to be included in that list? It may take some doing for them to get there, but in South Africa, there is one Yorkie who definitely belongs.
This unyielding Yorkie made headlines in South Africa and has become an internet celebrity when the security footage of him in action went viral on Youtube. The clip starts off with an intruder walking around the backyard. The man seems to be trying to figure out if anybody’s at home.
He cautiously walks from one end of the yard to the other. But when he inspected the other side of the backyard, he came across the most vicious guard dog in the world — a Yorkie! The clip has no audio, but we could tell that the cute pooch was barking at the intruder.
Despite the Yorkie’s smaller stature, his presence was enough to send the burglar darting across the yard and over the fence in just a couple of seconds. After the pup has thwarted the burglar, he did a cute spin, which netizen’s called a “victory spin.” Then the pup went back inside like nothing happened.
Four days after, that same burglar was caught by the police breaking into another house. After the interrogation, it turned out that this crook has cynophobia, meaning he has an irrational fear of dogs. Nevertheless, that Yorkie’s presence and vigilance made a huge difference, and that pooch deserves to be rewarded with big juicy steak!
