Family Waited Outside Of Shelter For 27 Hours To Adopt This Dog With A Special Mark On Her Chest

There are countless dogs in our country’s animal shelters. Some of them are lucky enough to find forever homes, but most of these poor doggos have yet to be adopted. But sometimes, all it takes for a doggo to find a loving family is for them to become social media celebrities.

They could have unique behavior that gets people’s attention, or they may stand out from the rest because they look unique. In Broken Arrow Animal Shelter in Oklahoma, a doggo who’s got a unique mark on her chest became an internet celebrity after the shelter posted her photo on Facebook.

This black Border Collie has got a heart-shaped patch on her chest, and netizens loved her to bits. Broken Arrow Animal Shelter shared that after their post went viral, there were hundreds of inquiries asking to adopt the pup. There were inquiries from the locals, but there were also inquiries from other states and abroad.

The animal shelter has a “first come, first served” policy, and they set a date for when this doggo can officially be adopted. Ryan Pendleton and his family fell in love with the Border Collie, and they are determined to add the pooch to their loving family.

The Pendleton family resides in Tulsa, which is only a 16-minute drive from the city of Broken Arrow. But Ryan and his family left nothing to chance. So one day before the pooch could be adopted, they camped outside of the animal shelter, making sure that they were first in line.

For 27 hours, they waited outside the shelter, and because of their dedication, the shelter chose them to take home the pooch whom they named “Luna.” The Broken Arrow Animal Shelter is hoping that Luna’s story would inspire others to adopt the dogs and cats that are still looking for forever homes at their facility.
