What will you do if you see your arch-nemesis standing in front of you, but you can’t approach him? Most of us would probably go berserk, but one pup seems to take everything in stride.
Thus, even as a Labrador wants to chase a squirrel visiting their front porch, it stays seated while watching its every move. And, it seems the mischievous squirrel knows that the dog can’t run after it as it silently taunts the pup further.
Ooh, a squirrel!
In this funny video clip, a black-furred Labrador named Bernie sits by their front door. At first glance, you’ll think Bernie’s doing some sightseeing.
But, the camera soon shifts its focus, letting us see what Bernie’s looking at. Soon enough, the bushy tail of a squirrel appears, prompting the Labrador to stay alert.
But, as the door’s locked, Bernie can’t do anything to chase the squirrel down. Even as the rodent makes its way towards the porch, the pup can only watch as the squirrel climbs over the steps.
Nah, you can’t catch me!
As the video progressed, the squirrel continues with its quest even as Bernie watches it closely. It even looks like the rodent knows that the pup can’t run after it as it glances in the Lab’s direction.
On and on, the squirrel goes until it manages to step on the porch’s doormat. The little rodent walks on the mat, eager to find some food on it.
For the next few seconds, the squirrel carries on with its task, making Bernie antsy to get his paws on it. But, as the door’s closed, the pup can only stare at the rodent despite its teasing gaze.
