Finding out that our fur friend has gone missing is one of the worst feelings a fur parent can go through. Worrying about whether they’re scared or hungry can stress any parent out.
Dianne Ramsey, a 71-year-old woman, knows this feeling very well. One day, her pup suddenly went missing, and every day that passed without finding her pup felt like forever for her.
Dianne is the fur mom of a 15-year-old Yorkie pup named Sasha. She views her pup as her best friend, usually spending most of their time together. One of their hobbies is to sit on the porch and watch the neighborhood. But one day, when Letreion Clements, Dianne’s daughter, brought the pup out to relieve herself, the pup suddenly disappeared.
According to Letreion, Sasha knows not to run out to the road while she does her business. And when the pup wants to go back inside the house, she usually knocks on the door. So when Letreion noticed that the pup was taking too long to knock, she went out to check on her but became alarmed when she didn’t find the pup on the porch. Letreion and Dianne immediately checked their security camera to see where Sasha went.
When they watched the security footage, they were shocked to see a woman ringing their doorbell before carrying the pup into a van and driving away. Completely devastated, Dianne stopped sitting on her porch like she used to because Sasha was gone. Letreion then decided to report the missing pup to the authorities and to make posters of Sasha. But as it actually turned out, the pup was not taken by a thief and was actually in safe hands.
The woman who carried Sasha away mistakenly thought that the pup was a stray and took her to an animal rescue center. The pup didn’t have a microchip, so the staff at the center weren’t able to contact her owners. Fortunately, after four days, one of the staff members saw a poster of Sarah with the contact information of Dianne.
When Letreion and Dianne learned that Sasha was safe, they were overjoyed and immediately drove to the center to pick her up. There, the staff members informed them about the misunderstanding. While at the center, Sasha was treated for her ear infection and given a microchip so she’ll always be identifiable. And for extra measures, the staff members also generously gave Letreion and Dianne a portable gate to prevent Sasha from ever going missing again.
