Family Finds A Tiny Puppy In An Old Warehouse Full Of Garbage – They Wanted To Keep Him But They Know He’d Be Better Off With The Rescuers

DAR Animal Rescue Co-Founder Ermioni Gionakou received a call from a young man who claimed he found a puppy in an old warehouse. After getting the details, she realized she knew the place so well. So as soon as she hung up the phone, she hopped into her car and drove straight to the site.

The rescue group once used the old warehouse as a shelter for their rescued animals. It was a property awarded by the municipality to their organization. But when a devastating storm came, the entire area got flooded and everything was damaged.

The warehouse had been empty since the time DAR Animal Rescue moved to a different location. It had no caretaker and even the government no longer found it reasonable to renovate the property. Over time, villagers used it as a dumpsite.

Eventually, some illegal settlers found the place and took over it. They wanted to help the puppy but they didn’t know what to do. They gave the little one some food, but it wasn’t the right kind for his age.

When Ermioni made it to the site, a woman came out and asked what she needed. She explained who she was and told her she was there to take the puppy. She grabbed a travel crate from her car and she agreed to give the pup to her.

The rescuer drove the puppy, which she named Sweety, later on, straight to the vet for a medical check-up and a spa treatment. They were very gentle and extra careful in taking care of him to avoid stressing him more. He was just a baby but he had been so much already.

Sweety stayed in the animal clinic for a few days to make sure he was in perfect health. Later on, Ermioni came back for him and brought him home to the DAR Animal Rescue.

At the shelter, Sweety became good friends with the other rescue dogs. While he was smaller and much younger than the rest of them, he incorporated into the pack easily. He got along quite well with all of them, and before long, he found his new forever home.
