Family Takes Their Elderly Dog Out For Adventures Through A Bed On Wheels

As our fur babies grow older, their abilities and personalities may gradually change. Fur parents may start to notice that unlike when they were younger, their pups would rather choose to take naps rather than run around or play fetch.

A Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Cocoa was once an energetic pup, but as she grew older, she had a hard time walking. But even though old age had caught up with her, the pup still loved going on adventures. Cocoa enjoyed watching the sunset, walking along the shores, and bonding with her family.

But when taking long walks was no longer an option for the pup, her family came up with a very brilliant idea to help her enjoy the outdoors with them. They made a mobile pup bed just for her.

The moving bed or ‘bed on wheels’ allowed Cocoa to enjoy the outdoors while relaxing on her bed. Antonio, Cocoa’s fur dad, tied a rope to the bed so that they could easily pull the bed with them. Thanks to her new mobile bed, Cocoa could explore all she wants without feeling tired. Her family took her to walks around their home, but of course, Cocoa’s family also brought her to her favorite beach, Virginia Beach.

When they arrived at the beach, people were naturally drawn to the pup and her bed. One lady even asked her fur dad about the bed. Antonio explained how he made it and allowed the lady to take photos of the pup on her bed.

Little did Antonio know that the photo the lady took was posted on Facebook and soon received a lot of attention. He didn’t have Facebook, so he had no idea that his pup went viral. But Cocoa’s fur dad soon found out about the photo from his brother-in-law, who excitedly showed him the post.

Antonio was happy that his pup and her bed were getting attention, but it was short-lived. Cocoa soon passed away after gaining popularity. It is sad news, but Antonio is comforted with knowing that her pup has made an impact on many fur parents and dog lovers before she passed away. We hope all the best for Cocoa’s family.
