Funny Dog Steals Cake And Has No Idea She Was Being Filmed

Unlike any other year, 2020 made us celebrate our special occasions differently. The quarantine taught us that celebrations need not be done face to face, and virtual celebrations are the thing now. This woman named Catharina Chagas’ birthday was not any different.

During her quarantine birthday, Catharina baked herself a cake and invited friends over via zoom conference to celebrate the turning of the page. The cake was beautiful and looked quite tasty. Apparently, Lolita thought so too.

Lolita is Catharina’s rescue dog and has been by her side while she was enjoying her slice and chatting with her friends. Midway through the call, Catharina remembered her building’s doorman and thought it would be nice to bring him a slice.

While Catharina stepped away from the computer to bring Mr. Doorman his slice of the cake, Lolita executed her devious plan. In Lolita’s mind, this would be a perfect crime, no witnesses, the timing could not be more perfect – or so she thought.

Lolita jumped up to the chair and started munching on her Mom’s birthday cake, oblivious of the eyes watching her through the other side of the screen. Catharina’s friends tried to call the mutt’s attention to get her to stop devouring her mom’s cake, all the while laughing at the situation. Lolita could not care less.

Having little success in stopping Lolita, Catharina’s friends recorded the crime of the century, saving the circumstantial evidence in their hard drives, evidence that would point the investigators to the suspect. Lolita was clueless and tried to act nonchalant upon hearing Catharina approaching.

Upon her return, Catharina was shocked to see half of her cake eaten on the floor. Seeing her friends laughing hysterically on the video chat, she already knew what happened, Lolita couldn’t be more guilty. Her friends sent her the video of what happened and couldn’t help but laugh with them.

Knowing that cakes are bad for dogs, Catharina kept an eye on her precious Lolita to see signs of distress, good thing the mischievous Lolita was safe from harm’s way. No better one to know than Catharina who is a veterinarian. Recounting the details of her birthday Catharina couldn’t be happier; this might just be the funniest thing that happens this quarantine.
